A Jersey based sports centre was closed temporarily in September, as Legionella bacteria was found in a part of the centres water system.
In this instance, the officials reported that the bacteria was not legionella pneumophila, which causes around 90% of cases. The sports centre reported that the finding didn’t effect the sinks or water fountains, and the find was a result of recent refurbishment works.
